Excellent Performer, but... December 9, 2009 Gary Bisogna 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Installation of new Valeo Premium bracketless wiper blade was every bit as easy as installing older, original equipment wipers. Today, during a nasty, wind-blown storm I put them to the test. These imports from Mexico performed admirably. I don't think they could've done any better job than they did. They are every bit as good, and maybe better than any previous blade including Anco, which is very impressive. The bracketless design also means that changing over to Winter blades each season is now no longer required; there are no wiper bracket openings for ice to build up in and thereby reduce windshield contact. Hopefully, this level of performance will last many months. I purchased them during an Amazon buy-one, get-one deal. I love Amazon, but I noticed that the Valeo bracketless design is virtually identical to the made-in-USA bracketless Goodyear Assurance blades. And the Goodyear cost less than Valeos at Amazon, but the Goodyears cost only about $8 (currently) in Costco.
superb December 19, 2009 L. Bentancur (Mission Hills, CA USA) i got these right before it started to rain. they work perfectly. 100 times better then regular windshield wipers.
Excellent performance in the rain January 13, 2010 George Zacharias (Bellevue, WA) I put these on my old Nissan and they work admirably in the rain and the "after-rain" time when there's dirty water on the road which gets sprayed onto your windshield by cars in front. They are completely jitter-free which wasn't the case with the more expensive wipers I had on before. They wipe VERY well, even during the first few raindrops when the dust on the windshield gets wet and the wipers spread it across and obscures the view which used to happen with my old wipers. These wipers wipe the dirt clean off and I've never had any problems ever.
They are not completely streak-free as claimed, I do see a couple of faint streaks but it's nothing compared to any of the wipers I've used before. I remember spending 15 or 20 per blade on another brand and seeing huge streaks immediately after I put them on, but these aren't anywhere close to distracting. You have to look closely against light at certain angles to see the streaks. They don't leave any water on the windshield at all (which some of my other "new" wipers did previously because they didn't "fit" snug with the windshield).
I ordered a few more of these for backup at these prices. To summarize, these are the best wipers I've ever used, period. Get 'em when they're on sale!
Works Well February 1, 2010 Michael H. (Cary, NC USA) For the price (heavily discounted when purchased), the wipers work great. There were no problems installing them on the vehicle and they have been working flawlessly since installation. Highly recommended.
A Clean Sweep March 29, 2010 Richer (OHIO, USA) This is a review of the Valeo U-21 Gen 2 Bracketless Wiper Blade
I have used this blade for several weeks and believe that this is a great blade. The fit for my Audi A6 y2000 is very good-not quite the perfect fit but very close. The blade was exceptionally easy to install. This is fortunate since there are no directions.
During a rain the blade sweeps across the windshield effortlessly. There is no noise nor blade chatter. The arc of the blades' sweep results in a perfectly cleared glass. I was concerned about the lack of a wind-foil on the driver's side, but there was no blade lift while driving at 65 mph during a rainstorm.
My recommendataion to Valeo is to trim down the attachment bracket a lot so that the blade appears integrated with the wiper arm.
The appearance is a bit ugly.
I hope that the fine quality of the blade endures as long as the previous Teflon blade that it replaces. I actually got several years use with the Teflon blades; and only replaced them because they were getting noisy (still cleared rain from the glass perfectly, however). To make full-disclosure, however, the car was kept out of the sun and inclement weather most of the time.
